OPEC May Increase Production to Control Prices

 

NOC Libya Chairman, Shokri Ghanem said the Organization Of Petroleum Exporting Countries could meet before September to consider increasing crude output in an attempt to control oil prices. He said in an interview, "We would consider, among other options, the possibility of increasing output as a way to ensure market stability."...more...

Crude Price Closed at Record High at $125.96

 

Fuel supply concerns and a rush of speculator buying push the oil prices up again and this time over $126 a barrel on yesterday's trading.  Light Crude closed at $125.96 a barel before rising to a record $126.25 in late post settlement trade. London Brent crude gained $2.56 to settle at $125.40 a barrel, off the earlier high of $125.90. Total SA Receives Base for its Operations in Southern Sudan

 

Energy minister of Sudan, John Luk Jok Says that Total SA has now received land to build a base in Bor, Jonglei, Southern Sudan and start operating in the country. Total SA has won the permit for block 5B after long dispute with White Nile Ltd. on the ownership of the license. The block covers an area of 117,000 square kilometers (45, 174square miles)...more...
