Petronas, short for Petroliam Nasional Bhd, is Malaysia's national petroleum
corporation incorporated on 17 August 1974. Petronas is wholly-owned by the
Government, the corporation is vested with the entire oil and gas resources in
Malaysia and entrusted with the responsibility of developing and adding value to
these resources. Petronas has since its inception grown into a fully integrated
oil and gas entity engaged in a broad spectrum of petroleum and related
value-adding business activities in both the upstream and downstream sectors.
