Perenco Completes First Offshore Well in Cameroon

Perenco  9-18-2003

Perenco has completed its first exploration well on the Ebodje Permit, located in the Douala Basin, offshore Cameroon.

The CM-1A well spudded in May of this year and reached TD of 3,168 meters. The well was drilled with Japan Drilling's semisub, Hakuryu-5, in over 400 meters of water. The rig was released after completion of the well operations and will now work for Pemex offshore Mexico. The well has been plugged and abandoned after encountering hydrocarbon shows. The results are currently
under evaluation.

The Ebodje Exploration Permit was awarded in April 1998 to a partnership comprising Perenco Cameroon SA as the Operator, Mobil Producing Cameroon Inc, and Societe Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) the National Oil Company. Perenco has operated in Cameroon since 1993, with its partners ExxonMobil and SNH. Perenco currently operates approximately 10,500 bopd from the Moudi and Ebome concessions, offshore Cameroon
