White Nile Says It's Operational in Southern Sudan
White
Nile 3/29/2006
White Nile reports that it has started its 2,000-kilometer seismic program in
Southern Sudan and is now fully operational in the region.

"We continue to develop our interests in the region and look forward to an exciting year in 2006," chairman Phil Edmonds said in a statement.

The company said it can now speed up the seismic operations and the well targeting process in Block Ba in
Southern Sudan. Sudan, block ba (click to enlarge)

White Nils also said that it has completed the first half of the initial geophysical program of magneto-telluric and gravity surveys in the Southern Rift Basins in
Ethiopia.

The company also noted that the preliminary interpretation of data already gathered is now underway. Once completed, the interpretation should provide a better idea of the region's prospectivity.

Regarding a competing claim on Block Ba from Total, White Nile contends that has the benefit of tenure. The company asserts that it has worked closely with its partners--the Government of Southern Sudan, Nile Petroleum, local government, and the people of Southern Sudan--to advance the project.
