Total Wins Cameroon Exploration Block
Total
3/15/2006
The Government of Cameroon has awarded Total www.total.com  the Bomana exploration block in the offshore Rio Del Rey basin.

Total will operate the block with a 100-percent interest. The 140-square-kilometer block is located near concessions operated by Total in Cameroon.

Total is the operator of the Rio Del Rey permit in Cameroon. The company is partnered with Pecten Cameroon and the Societe Nationale des Hydrocarbures. The group's operated production in the West African country is approximately 60,000 barrels of oil per day.

The Bomana acquisition is in line with Total's strategy in Cameroon. The company pursues opportunities to increase its present acreage, a strategy that began in April of 2005 when the group was awarded the Dissoni block.
