Burren Energy Updates Congo Operations

Burren Energy 12-22-2006

Burren Energy has announced that the exploration well Loufika Deep -1, drilled to reach the Vandji reservoir (the source of production on the M'Boundi field 35 km to the north-west), reached a total depth of 2,842 meters without encountering the Vandji target. Hence, the well has been suspended and a light rig has been mobilized to drill six delineation wells to complete production from a shallower prospect zone, commencing in late December 2006.

The rig used to drill the Loufika Deep -1 well is now being moved to the Tioni Prospect to drill the Tioni-1 exploration well 5 km to the south-west of Loufika, again targeting the Vandji reservoir.
