SPE and the Chinese Petroleum Society (CPS) have hosted this event since 1982. This eighth edition will have the full cooperation and support of the China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the China Petroleum and Chemical Corp. (SINOPEC) and the China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC).

The theme of the conference is Sustainable Growth for Oil and Gas.

More than 100 technical papers in concurrent technical sessions will be presented along with special sessions presenting business related topics, panel sessions with industry and technical leaders sharing their views on key trends and technical issues, and a range of social events.

CPS and SPE expect more than 3,000 technical professionals from within China, Asia and around the world to attend. Senior management from the supporting national oil companies together with their counterparts from multinational producing companies have committed to participate.

The accompanying technical exhibition will feature not only producing companies and service companies but also organisations providing technology and technical services to the industry. A total of 1,350 square metres of space has been set aside for the exhibition.
