Total of the oil revenues in last August was 422.2 million dollars, 288.3 million dollars out of which were revenues from petroleum exports, while 133.9 million dollars were revenues of the crude oil processed at local refineries, announced the Undersecretary at the federal Ministry of Finance, Al-Sheikh Mohamed Al-Mekk.
At a meeting of the joint committee for oil revenues of the National Government and the Government of South Sudan (GOSS), Al-Mekk disclosed that the share of south Sudan in the oil revenues for last August was 153.6 million dollars, indicating that this share included the revenues from the exported oil and locally produced petroleum.
He said that the direct expenditure for the Government of South Sudan (GOSS) in last August reached 145.8 million dollars. Al-Mekk said that the total share of the oil producing states in the oil revenues in last August was 8.5 million dollars, explaining that 3.6 million dollars of the total revenues was the share of Wohda State, while 2.7 million dollars was the share of the Upper Nile State and 2.2 million dollars represented the share of South Kordofan State.
He indicated that the direct transfer for the oil producing states reached 8.49 million dollars. Meanwhile, the Undersecretary the Ministry of Finance of the Government of South Sudan (GOSS), Agri Tessa, underscored the accuracy of the said figures of the oil revenues and shares. He stressed the commitment of the joint oil revenues committee of the National Government and the Government of South Sudan (GOSS) to the principle of transparency concerning the oil revenues' accounts and distribution of shares, in compliance with the Protocol on the Sharing of Wealth of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
The Undersecretary of the federal Ministry of Finance, Al-Sheikh Al-Mekk, announced formation of a joint committee of the National Government and the Government of South Sudan (GOSS) for collection and sharing of the non petroleum revenues of customs and taxation.
