Cooper Energy Announces Tunisia Bargou 2D Marine Seismic Program

Cooper Energy 06-25-2007

Cooper Energy reports that a contract to acquire just less than 1,000 km of 2D marine seismic in the Bargou Permit in the Gulf of Hamammet has been executed with CGG Services. The seismic is expected to cost around US$1.5 million, will commence towards the end of June/early July 2007 (subject to final Tunisian Government approvals) and will take approximately 19 days to complete.

Cooper Energy was awarded the Bargou Permit in April 2006. Since the award date, Cooper Energy has been collating data and reprocessing an
d interpreting the existing 2D seismic.

The seismic
interpretation work has revealed that the Bargou Permit has a number of attractive leads and prospects. The new seismic is designed to infill the existing seismic in order to high-grade these leads and prospects for further exploration activity.

The new seis
mic is also expected to assist in identifying new leads and prospects.

Following the 2007 seismic acquisition, Cooper Energy would expect to undertake further exploration activities in the Permit by shooting a detailed 2D or 3D seismic in 2008 and drilling an exploration well in 2009.

Cooper Energy holds 100% of the Bargou Permit.
