BowLeven Starts Drilling IF-1r in Block MLHP-7 Offshore Cameroon

05-29-2008

BowLeven Plc., the oil and gas company focused on Africa, said drilling has started in the IF-1r exploration well in block MLHP-7 of the Etinde Permit in the Rio Del Rey Basin, offshore Cameroon.

The company said the primary objective of the IF-1r well is to explore for gas/condensate bearing sands in a structure located up-dip from the adjoining IE field.

The IF-1r well is to be drilled to a depth of about 8,500 feet by the Trident IV jackup rig , which is expected to take about 60 days, the company added.

BowLeven said on Feb. 4 that it would start redrilling at block MLHP 7-in late April or early May.
