Algerian Official is in Washington to Talk Energy

Algerian Energy Minister, Chakib Khelil is in Washington and later in New York to participate in discussions on energy due to be held from May 8 to 15th.

Mr. Khalil will be accompanied by energy officials. He will take part in the second session of “gas producer-consumer dialogue” in addition to The UN Commission on Sustainable Development, May 9-11 in U.N. headquarters.

“This session will deal with energy for sustainable development, industrial developmen
t, atmospheric pollution and climate changes”, said the minister.

The Algerian delegation is expected to participate on May 15th in an “Energy Symposium” organised by U.S. Algeria Business Council (USABC) in Washington.

On the other hand, Mr. Chakib Khelil will hold talks with his American counterpart, Samuel Bodman. The minister will also meet managers of American and Canadian oil companies.
