Gulf Keystone Plugs and Abandons HBHN-1 in Algeria

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd. said it has plugged and abandoned its HBHN-1 well at the Hassi Ba Hammou gas field in Algeria after it found no commercial gas volumes.

The oil exploration company, which has interests in Algeria and Kurdistan, also said drill exploration well RM-1 is expected to spud within a month.

Separately, the company said its Gulf Keystone Petroleum International Ltd. unit has completed the acquisition of 171 km of 2D seismic data in Kurdistan in partnership with MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Public Ltd. Co.'s subsidiary Kalegran Ltd. and Texas Keystone Inc.
