Petrobras to Start Production From Agbami Field Offshore Nigeria

04-17-2008

Jorge Zelada, international director of Brazil's state oil company Petrobras, has told reporters that production could start at Nigeria's Agbami field by June.

Petrobras has a 20 percent stake in Agbami field, which lies in OMLs 126 and 128 offshore Nigeria, in water depths of around 4,800 feet (1,500 m). Zelada said that Petrobras expects its share of the field's 250,000 b/d output to be 30,000 b/d. Chevron is the lead operator of the project.

Zelada also commented on Nigeria's Akpo field in OML 130, expecting production to begin there by the end of the year.

Total is the operator of this block, with Petrobras holding 13 percent working interest. NNPC, Sapetro and CNOOC are also partners in the field.
