GSI Pacific to Acquire Seismic Data Offshore Guinea
04-08-2008
Seismic
acquisition vessel GSI Pacific has arrived
in the port
city of Conakry, Republic of Guinea, to begin the acquisition of new 2-D seismic
data for Hyperdynamics Corp. GSI Pacific will acquire data along the emerging
transform margin play running through Hyperdynamics' 31,000 square mile (80,289
sq km) concession offshore Guinea.
The
concession contains one of the largest slope shelf areas in West Africa,
and the data acquired here will be used to finalize subsequently acquired 3-D
grids.
Hyperdynamics Executive Vice President of Exploration and Production James R.
Spear traveled to Guinea to meet with GSI Pacific and ensure that the required
scientific equipment and navigational configurations were onboard. While in
Guinea, Spear and Famourou Kourouma, the company's vice president of Guinea
affairs, established business relations with logistics and shipping firm Getma
Guinea. The firm will provide all in-country logistics, port services and other
support for Hyperdynamics' Guinea operations.
