Sterling Energy Plugged and Abandoned THAM-1 Well in Gabon

Oil & gas exploration and production company Sterling Energy PLC said the THAM-1 well, Themis Marin, in the Gabon drilling programme is being plugged and abandoned.

The company said the second well in the Gabon programme, ICM-1, is scheduled to spud in April, and added the well is targeting gross reserves of 11-40 million barrels.

Oil explorer Afren has a 12.86 pct stake in the Themis Marin permit.
